Each office is staffed by advisors who are able to provide expert assistance on heritage conservation issues, including resource management and the New Zealand Heritage List/Rārangi Kōrero.

The National Office is based in Antrim House, Wellington. The Board, Māori Heritage Council and corporate services such as Finance, Human Resources, Media and Communications and Policy are administered from this office.
